ABOUT ME
I have always had a keen interest in human behaviour, which I decided to pursue once I matriculated.
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Pretoria, where I enrolled in a variety of elective courses to create a diverse foundation for the understanding of human behaviour. My Honours degree was completed through UNISA. It was during my Honours that I decided that the clear way forward for me was Clinical Psychology. I subsequently enrolled at the University of KwaZulu Natal, Pietermaritzburg campus to complete my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology.
My Internship was completed at the Midlands Hospital Complex where we did rotations through the hospitals in the area, as well as some of the community clinics. These included Townhill Hospital, Fort Napier Hospital, Edendale and Northdale Hospital.
For my community service I was based at Northdale Hospital where I was responsible for the Psychology Department at the Hospital.
Once I had completed my community service, I decided to join a Private Psychiatric clinic that was newly opened in Pietermaritzburg named, Akeso. Here I spent time on the general psychiatric unit while the hospital was still in its infancy. I assisted in the development of the therapeutic program and conducted group and individual therapy daily. After a brief time at the hospital, I decided to venture into private practice.
I estabished a group Private Practice named Psych Care. We currently consist of:
Dylan Evans – Clinical Psychologist
Dr Khatija Olla – Specialist Psychiatrist
Vernon Solomon – Clinical Psychologist
and Vicky Clark – Occupational Therapist
My aim has always been to ensure that ur practice is run professionally and ethically. We aim to provide professional and excellent care at all times.
